Collaborative Vietnamese Space Emphasizing Individual Importance and Community Focus

The Vietnam pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai, located in the Empowering Lives zone on Yumeshima Island, offers visitors a unique and immersive experience into Vietnam's traditional culture and artistic heritage. The pavilion, which opened on April 30, 2025, marks the fiftieth anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War.

Upon entering the pavilion, visitors are greeted by women dressed in traditional ao dai costumes, symbolising Vietnamese culture. The ceiling of the pavilion is adorned with pictures of traditional lanterns, creating a visually captivating space.

The exhibitory experience employs projection mapping and 3D technologies to vividly reproduce Vietnam’s alluring culture, including displays of folk costumes and traditional products. A major highlight is the art of Vietnamese water puppetry, a cultural tradition with over 100 years of history. The pavilion offers four exquisite shows daily where puppets move accompanied by live music played on traditional instruments, creating an authentic cultural performance experience.

In addition to these attractions, the pavilion actively hosts cultural activities such as those celebrating Francophone Week, further promoting Vietnamese culture during the Expo.

The Vietnam pavilion's national day celebration will take place on September 9, 2025, at the Expo National Day Hall. Visitors are encouraged to attend and witness the celebration of Vietnam's rich cultural heritage.

Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai began on April 13, 2025, and will run for a half-year through October 13. The event aims to bring together nations and cultures to promote peace, innovation, and sustainability. The Vietnam pavilion is a testament to this mission, offering visitors a glimpse into Vietnam's unique and beautiful culture.
