CHP Kicks Off Global Rallies for İmamoğlu's Release and Early Elections
The main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) is gearing up for a series of rallies, starting with a significant event in Brussels later this month. The party aims to push for the release of jailed presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu and call for early elections.
CHP leader Özgür Özel will lead the first rally outside Turkey on October 12 in Brussels. The party's central board members will oversee the event, as they have done in previous provincial election updates. Before the rally, CHP officials will travel to Brussels to meet with local community members and ensure preparations are in order.
Following the Brussels election update, the CHP plans to stage further demonstrations in other countries, although specific locations for these events have not been disclosed. The party's Istanbul branch has also reinstated its ousted provincial leader, Özgür Çelik, during an extraordinary congress held on September 24.
With Özel's leadership consolidated following his reelection on September 21, the CHP is expected to hold a work camp for its members of parliament this weekend, with Özel addressing supporters at a rally in Bolu. The party's international election updates are set to intensify its campaign for İmamoğlu's release and early elections.
