CDU Celebrates Municipal Election Wins with New Mayors in NRW
In a show of support, Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz and NRW Minister President Hendrik Wüst hosted a joint press conference with newly elected CDU mayors from North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), celebrating the party's successful municipal election victories.
Among the attendees was Daniel Flemm, the newly elected mayor of Solingen. He was personally received by Chancellor Merz and Minister President Wüst. Flemm expressed gratitude for the acknowledgment, stating it boosted his team's commitment to lead Solingen towards a prosperous future.
Chancellor Merz praised the clear victory of the CDU in Solingen, describing the elected officials as 'winners'. He viewed the election results as a 'mandate for the federal government' to drive the country forward. Minister President Wüst highlighted the NRW CDU's role as the 'number one communal party', congratulating Flemm for bringing Solingen back to the CDU after a decade.
Other successful CDU mayors from cities like Aachen, Bielefeld, Bonn, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Essen, Hagen, Leverkusen, Mülheim an der Ruhr, and Solingen also attended the event, celebrating their election victories and looking ahead to their new roles.
