CDC-Canceled Covid-19 Vaccine Safety Study Raises Concerns

Dr. Frank DeStefano, former CDC official, stressed the need for ongoing vaccine research. Meanwhile, a CDC-funded project studying rare Covid-19 vaccine side effects was abruptly canceled, sparking controversy.

The Global Vaccine Data Network project, led by Professor Dr. Arne Burkhardt, aimed to analyze Covid-19 vaccine adverse events across multiple countries. However, the project was suddenly halted.

Dr. Bruce Carleton, who planned to genetically analyze 275 covid symptoms cases, was left to study only 50 due to the cancellation. The grant was terminated despite the ongoing presence of Covid-19 and the potential future use of mRNA platforms. US Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has not yet responded to requests to reinstate the funding.

Dr. Kirk Milhoan, a new ACIP member, praised Carleton's work and suggested improving personalized vaccine care. Dr. Steven Black, the primary investigator, confirmed the cancellation and noted the project's intended duration and scope, including studying myocarditis and blood clots associated with different vaccine technologies.

The cancellation of the Global Vaccine Data Network project has raised questions about the prioritization of vaccine safety research. Despite the ongoing presence of Covid-19 and the potential future use of mRNA platforms, the project was terminated, leaving important research incomplete. The reinstatement of funding for this project is currently under consideration.
