CB Taxi Launches: Cross-Border Rides via Kummute App
CB Taxi, a new cross-border taxi service, has launched between Singapore and Malaysia. Users can book rides digitally via the Kummute app, eliminating the need for physical counters and direct driver contact.
The service, introduced by Kummute, allows users to book a taxi timeslot as little as 30 minutes to two days in advance. Fares are calculated based on distance, with a booking fee of RM25 for Malaysian taxis (MY Taxi) and S$8 for Singaporean taxis (SG Taxi).
CB Taxi offers cashless payments through the Kummute app, accepting various payment methods including online banking, credit/debit cards, and popular eWallet options like Alipay, GrabPay, ShopeePay, TNG eWallet, WeChat Pay, and Boost.
Initially, Malaysian taxis can only drop off passengers at Ban San Street in Singapore, while Singaporean taxis can only drop them off at Larkin Terminal in Johor Bahru. In Phase 2, Kummute aims to introduce seamless door-to-door service, allowing passengers to book once and enjoy convenient interchanges at both Larkin and Ban San Street.
All CB taxi drivers on the Kummute platform are officially licensed by APAD Malaysia, with the Malaysian government issuing 200 permits for the cross-border transport service. The service uses licensed six-seater MPVs and four-seater sedans from both countries.
CB Taxi via the Kummute app provides a convenient, cashless cross-border taxi service between Singapore and Malaysia. With a wide range of payment options and licensed drivers, it offers a modern alternative to traditional cross-border transportation. The service's initial phase focuses on specific drop-off points, with plans to expand to seamless door-to-door service in the future.
