Lanes on A100 closed - Damage to another bridge - Berlin's A100 Motorway Facing Major Closures Due to Bridge Damage

Berlin's A100 motorway is facing significant closures and restrictions due to newly discovered damage on a bridge. The outer lanes towards Dreieck Funkturm will be closed starting Friday, with the Detmolder Straße on-ramp indefinitely shut down.

The damage includes flaking concrete and corrosion on the bridge over Mecklenburgische Straße, prompting investigations to assess its extent. Several lanes of the A100 will be closed, and motorists can expect further traffic restrictions in the coming months due to construction work.

The Autobahn GmbH anticipates completing investigations by the end of November, followed by a report on further action. In the meantime, a truck overtaking ban is in effect on the A100. Additionally, the federal motorway company is responsible for repairs on the damaged section of the A100 at the Innsbrucker Platz tunnel, which was recently fully closed in one direction for urgent repair work.

Construction work on the new Ringbahn bridge is set to begin on October 20 and is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2027. Motorists and residents in western Berlin should plan for ongoing traffic disruptions and closures while the necessary repairs and construction take place.
