Bamberg Delegation Strengthens Ties with Austrian Partners in Cultural Exchange

A delegation from Bamberg, led by Mayor Andreas Starke and Deputy Mayor Jonas Glüsenkamp, recently visited their partner cities in Austria, Villach and Feldkirchen. The group, which included gardeners, firefighters, city council members, and administration officials, participated in various events and cultural exchanges.

The highlight of the trip was a parade in Villach with around 2,000 participants and 55 groups. Despite heavy rain, many spectators lined the streets to watch. The Bamberg delegation, including a group of gardeners, presented garlic wreaths to the mayors of both cities. Earlier, the delegation had marched in a parade together with their Villach firefighter colleagues. They also visited Feldkirchen, where they jointly opened a long shopping night and were shown the Bamberg Amthof, a cultural center currently undergoing renovation.

Deputy Mayor Jonas Glüsenkamp was honored during the visit. He was named NÄRRity Ambassador by the Fasching Guild Landskron and received an order and certificate. The Bamberg delegation's visit fostered stronger ties between the partner cities, with cultural exchanges and joint events.
