Authorities Brace for October 2nd Mobilization Day Disruptions

Authorities are preparing for potential disturbances during the October 2nd mobilization day. The outgoing interior minister, Bruno Retailleau, has warned of troublemakers infiltrating official processions. While the right to protest is guaranteed, blockades and disruptions will not be tolerated.

Law enforcement has been instructed to intervene promptly to remove blockades, including those at schools and other educational establishments. They will also monitor certain public facilities with symbolic significance, such as speed cameras.

In case of high threat levels, parliamentary assemblies and seats of executive power or judicial authorities may be secured. Retailleau's telegram did not specify the force responsible for the systematic suppression of disturbances, but it is clear that maintaining public order and tranquility is a priority. The fundamental freedom to demonstrate will be guaranteed while ensuring these objectives.

As the October 2nd mobilization day approaches, authorities are taking steps to ensure a peaceful and orderly event. Blockades and disruptions will be swiftly addressed, and certain public facilities will be monitored. The right to protest is protected, but any attempts to disrupt official processions or cause disturbances will be met with law enforcement intervention.
