Arnsberg Welcomes Two New Firefighters After 18-Month Training

Two new firefighters, Carla Saul and David Nicol, have joined the Arnsberg Fire Department after completing an 18-month training programme. The duo passed their final exams in September 2025 and have been reinforcing the team since October 1.

The training was a joint effort between the fire service school of Mülheim an der Ruhr, the main fire stations in Arnsberg and Neheim, and the rescue service school in Mülheim. It aimed to prepare Saul and Nicol for diverse deployment scenarios in fire and emergency services. The instructors at the fire and emergency medical school in Mülheim played a significant role in their support.

The training included intensive sessions at the fire school in Mülheim and main stations in Arnsberg and Neheim. Theoretical emergency medical training took place at the emergency medical school in Mülheim, with practical parts completed on emergency vehicles and in Arnsberg hospitals. The candidates had to prove their knowledge in theory and practice during final exams, including realistically simulated deployment exercises.

The Arnsberg fire department congratulates Carla Saul and David Nicol on passing their career exam and welcomes them to the team. Their successful completion of the 18-month training programme has equipped them with the necessary skills to serve the community effectively.
