Alaska Airlines' flights to Iceland via Seattle are now available for booking, allowing travelers to secure tickets for trips to Reykjavík.

Alaska Airlines is set to embark on a new journey, announcing the launch of daily nonstop flights from Seattle (SEA) to Reykjavík (KEF) starting May 28, 2026. This exciting development marks the airline's foray into transatlantic travel, as they aim to provide passengers with a seamless journey across the Atlantic during the summer months, with flights ending on September 8, 2026.

The new route will be operated by the long-range Boeing 737 8 MAX, a testament to Alaska Airlines' commitment to efficiency and comfort. Passengers can expect an 8-hour flight, offering ample time to unwind, work, or enjoy the in-flight entertainment.

In a move to enhance the travel experience for premium passengers, Alaska Airlines' new flights to Reykjavík will offer enhanced amenities. This includes access to the Icelandair Saga Lounge at KEF before their flights for passengers in first class and those with Atmos Rewards Gold, Platinum, and Titanium status.

Icelandair, a long-standing player on the SEA-KEF route, will continue to serve passengers with its single-aisle Airbus A320neo jets. Alaska Airlines and Icelandair have also expanded their codeshare agreement, offering passengers more flexibility and convenience.

For those eager to accumulate Alaska Atmos Rewards points, the airline offers various methods. These include welcome bonuses and spending on Alaska co-branded credit cards, transferring points from Marriott Bonvoy (3:1 ratio) and Bilt Rewards points (1:1 ratio), referring a friend for bonus miles, shopping through the Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards shopping portal, using Atmos Rewards Dining when dining out, and more.

Cash fares for the SEA-KEF route start around $740 round-trip in economy, offering affordable options for travellers. For those preferring to use Atmos Rewards points, a round-trip award ticket can be booked for approximately 55,000 Atmos Rewards points, plus $300 in taxes and fees.

Alaska Atmos Rewards points are highly valued, with monthly valuations considering them the highest-valued airline points available. This makes earning and redeeming Atmos Rewards points a worthwhile endeavour for frequent flyers.

As Alaska Airlines prepares to take off on this new route, they are also planning to fly their new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners to London (LHR) next month, further expanding their global reach. With these exciting developments, Alaska Airlines is poised to deliver exceptional travel experiences for its passengers.
