Airline Wizz Air takes the lead in Georgia as passenger numbers surge by 14% at airport destinations
In the vibrant and growing Georgian air travel sector, a shift has been observed in the first half of 2025. The sector experienced a significant 14% increase, serving a total of 3.65 million passengers [1]. Among the newcomers, Spirit Airlines has been notably expanding its presence in Georgia. The airline launched new services at Middle Georgia Regional Airport (Macon) and plans to start service at Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport in August 2025 [8].
